The lamp illuminates books sheets as a window would, and through the light you can see perforated holes corresponding to letters. By joining, like constellations, the letters, a subtext can be read that encapsulates a message.The method of transcribing through small holes visible only through the passage of light was one of many ways invented to communicate secretly between the prisoners and the Communist Party members who were outside. However, because of the difficulty of this method, it was almost never used.In the Constellations series, the artist applied this ingenious method to transcribe fragments of a poem written by political prisoners during their imprisonment.
